Just wondering. It looks very pink on the NW radar.

I did mention it earlier that we been in the pink under radar a lot todsy and not much happened somebody did say to it doesn't always get I right. Always think Kettering  Corby it strange can get loads others don't like between Xmas new year.  Places like wellingborough didn't get much or Peterborough be we got 4 5 inches  other times miss out totally very odd.

GFS 12z  location of the precipitation tomorow at 06:00. Progress south is near non existent through the day as it tracks east. Whatever we get tomorrow will likely be just the odd dusting.

I wouldn't worry a bout not seeing anything on radar out in the North Sea - this is convective snow, which I believe means it forms as it comes over the sea. It isn't like Britain's normal snow, ie frontal snow, where you have snow-bearing clouds coming across the sea. this is more sort of forming-as-it-arrives...

Well the BBC national and regional forecasts looked good for here tonight and tomorrow. Mentioned Shropshire also being affected by the Polar Low. They also said it would be wet snow and would stick more quickly. Slightly less cold air in that low.

Looks like the end of the week may actually bring two spells of snow. One Thursday night and one Friday.

Theres more to this low that what we can currently see on radar (Met Office Precip vs NW radar)

i thought the netweather radar was fed from the MET. Ive got them open side by side and they're identical.

It is, the met office precip graphic is indeed a prediction, however it highlights the chance that this low could expand into a much larger area of precipitation

I could have probably worded that post a little better

The weather today really reminded me of Sunday 1st February 2009...

...the 2nd February 2009 came next.

its typical, we had a really good snowfall back in early December but it wasnt cold enough to stick around for more than 1 day, now when we get really cold weather we end up getting zilch snow.  can't win.

I believe the wind direction is likely to shift from a North Easterly to more of a Easterly; this will change distribution.
