Yes, It would of been quite a dumping if that front did not die out:cold:

Thursdays won't, very active that one, just hope it's timed for night, don't fancy getting wet

7 hours of persistent, powerdy, dry snow, with air temperature and dew point below freezing after a cold night that froze the ground.

The result?

Wet surfaces and a tiny, patchy dusting.

Baffled.

Is this the modern February? happened before in the modern erah,

It is.  But with the meto suggesting temps of 7c when it comes through here, I am expecting nothing but rain.   Though as usual it will probably amount to very little here anyway

At least the persistent NW flow and cold air from Canada should bring further opportunities. Then we will see what the SSW brings.

Need a 13th Dec setup, but unsure about it producing at lower levels in Feb, Feb needs really a true beast

The set-up for Thursday-Friday looks to me like this: Rain and then some back-edge snow on Thursday night (1-2 hours). Probably will not amount too much. Maybe max 2-3 cm for lower levels.

The set-up reminds me a little of the evening of 26th December 2017 which gave 2 inches of snow here.

NW'lys are good here. WNW or NNW not so good. GFS has NW winds and -8 uppers on Friday.

Well this 'cold' spell is turning out rubbish.  No snow here and not even a white frost , and it was supposed to be minus 4 last night, we only got to minus 1 here??

How can we be so unlucky in this country???

Cold spells certainly are very weird nowadays, aren't they?

Now we have another false easterly to chase in FI (and we know we will).

I can't be grudge this winter too much, we've had 7 falls of snow, and two good ones at that, but I'd love just one more good fall of snow before the spring comes :-)

Thick frost, icy stretches and all the lakes frozen over. -3'C. Will never understand how yesterday's snow didn't settle.

Rest of the week looks like spells of rain interspersed with sunny spells and wintry showers. Next week could bring.widespread snow. Or just cold rain.

Nice crisp winters day here. Still a nice frost on the ground and stunning Blue skies. Thursday still holds interest for me I think back edge snow is a possibility tomoz and it will be heavy. Still time for minor changes to make a difference either way. Good morning everyone have a great Day. :cold:

Just signs now of tomorrows horrible weather, wispy cirrus to the west, gradually making sky milky, snow must have thawed last night, off hedges/trees

Beautiful morning here  with a deep azure sky although one or two wispy clouds now appearing.

Layer of white snow still surviving in the shade.

Got down to -2.4C here after a mainly cloudy night and a dew point of -5,6C.

Now at 3.7C.

Snow days now at 11, with 18 days of laying snow.

Best for 5 years (all added together).
