ECM model decides to throw out a snow 'event' down a central spine of England on Saturday. It's snow accumulation charts tend to be overdone but give an indication of where it shows some wintriness occuring.

Probably a low probability but maybe one to watch?

A few scattered wintry showers before then. Mostly in the north with snow mostly over hills.

Interesting to see some hill snow potential for the weekend. It really is a week cold, week mild this winter. Apparently charts show a nationwide snow event on Sat 10th, which would be typical as I'm in Amsterdam!

Hail/graupel/sleet showers earlier now proper flakes in moderate to heavy showers....currently snowing.... had slushy 1-2cm an hour ago after prolonged shower.... bit of a shock after coming back from Gibraltar/sotogrande/Ceuta where it was  17-21c....Monday was bonkers down there with 70mph winds causing damage and having the crossing into Gibraltar closed.... helicopter journey to Ceuta was lovely though in clear blue skies on Friday.....

although transitory slight accumulations...snowing moderately and laying again atm....

Tuesday gaining interest, beast developing on Monday, front from the west Tuesday, very cold air ahead of it, and behind it, GFS though modeling it as very weak forget tonight, mild until Monday

hopefully nearer the time more oomph in the front

you seem confused weirpig, what do you reckon for Tuesday? FI still

yes  Tuesday is along way out   But for the next few days max here of 3c  in a 30 mph+ wind gusts    Feel temperature around -1 to -3c   Mild would not have been the word i would have used.  However you are right in the respect i expect not a lot regarding snow tonight.

Not mild. Just not deeply cold. Cold enough though for some wintriness to hills, and to lower levels in the heaviest showers and at night.

Weekend shows the potentitial for some snow in places but mostly over high ground. Early next week does look potentially the most interesting.

Not a great run for this region GFS 18Z, for early next week, still FI yet though, lots of changes I'm sure, on this run, we're practically snow free, (early next week)
