Turning to sleet now nooooo. Thought it wouldn't turn so quick. The end is nigh but still 9 snow days this winter not bad at all.

Icy rain here in Birmingham. Any chance of it turning back to snow in heavier bursts perhaps?

No it’s the milder air now unfortunately, there will now be a rapid thaw

That’s a shame. Some models didn’t have it turning to rain until 2/3pm. Even the BBC had it as snow until 1pm. Oh well i’m still grateful for my 2cm covering ?

Just proves that back edge to milder air is sudden as it's still snowing heavily here and just up the road icy rain.

Tbh I thought the same thing, I think it may take a bit longer but the milder air is definitely coming unfortunately so will be raining by early afternoon I would think

I remember a few winters ago, the forecast said the mild air would be coming in, double figures etc... well the cold air fought back and it stayed cold with snow on the ground for a few more days.

Am not saying the same thing will happen today at all, but pointing out that the cold air may dig in and hold the mild air at bay if it digs back in enough. And No, it doesn't mean we know who has successfully predicted the next ice age!!

Snowing nicely in Belper, a light dusting on the ground so far but hopefully more to come.

I did a little better here than I did yesterday! (Okay, not hard. :P) About 2cm on car roofs etc, though the snow has now turned to rain even though it's 0.6 °C and there's a slow but steady thaw underway with lots of dripping. Looking set to be a pretty miserable, damp afternoon, so frankly I now want the mild air to arrive quickly. (Well, unless the cold hangs on properly, but that doesn't seem very likely.)

And here!

Ah well another day added to my snow falling  and snow laying count.

Roll on the next cold outbreak.

(I have to keep my name alive somehow,:cold::D:yahoo: )

Midlands Ice Age

Suddenly a beautiful sight  (as the snow stops) of 3 goldfinches on my feeder. Stunning

Yes your name as justified itself so far this Season.....just don't tell everyone as the rest of the UK must be fed up with the Midlands bragging rights this winter :cold::D

The forthcoming week is not looking good :search: We'll give it week and we'll see.....We've got to have Snow in February now for your count/records.....Easterly would be nice though :cold-emoji:
