You’ll probably have a slightly better chance of it lasting as snow longer where you are.

Think I'm a bit too far west. Looks better for eastern parts of the region to me.

East mids have certainly done way better than usual, but considering pretty much all snow events this year so far have come from westerly directions, west mids have got the deeper snow depths thus far overall. Precip tends to weaken as it gets into the east mids especially with the weaker systems though.

I'm not complaining though, still the best year I can remember in recent memory.

Evening all,not all of the East Midlands have had lots of snow we've had very little snow here just north of Derby.Whilst relatives in Cannock Chase are sick to death of it all already!!.We had around 3cm on Dec 10th but nothing of note since. Its been a very fine line to who got it and who didn't.Its been very localised.Hoping for some tomorrow before it turns to rain.Good luck everyone.?❄️

GFS18z. Weird dot of rain amongst the snow over the West Midlands on the second chart. Probably my house!

Similar to 12z so good stuff still!!icon still further west with the snow line at same time so gfs might be a bit too quick in pushing the snow through

Snow for at least 4 hours today potentially heavy like today but more organised band but eventually turning to rain around midday in the West and later on in the east as the mild air pushes through. Great winter so far. :yahoo::snowman-emoji:

Beginning to wonder if it may last a little longer- perhaps 6 hrs.

According    to above we may also be in the heaviest precipitation.

Good luck to everyone....

If this comes off we will have been so lucky this year.:yahoo:

MIA

Edit - Temp at 0.6C after -0.5C minimum earlier on. DP now at -0.3C

I got up this morning and it was just wet, but now it's snowing and sticking to everything!

Edit: Don't forget, if you have Twitter, to tweet #uksnow, the first part of your postcode and rate the snow that is falling... 10/10 is a blizzard, 0/10 is nothing. Then you can visit the real time snow map of the UK...

Nothing here yet it seems a bit later than forecast this could be good news as it means the front is moving way slower than expected.

Yea snowing in the Cotswolds, started off as sleet but now sticking to most surfaces,

It's snowing also on lower ground to the west in west Gloucestershire which is a good sign
