Snow maybe over some eastern and western parts, but this is all marginal for most of us, especially the Midlands and Central areas until we get to T198.

The 00z runs will take some nerves of steel even with so much seemingly in our favour this time.

It will be easier then, but harder right now, if you think back to the UKMO 12z at day 6. Oh wait, even that included a significant snow event across a wide area... so that leaves the GFS 12z with it's not so clean LP movement Sat-Sun.

Not sure I can resist dreaming with the 18z for now though

And so the wonderful near term trend continues, and Britain grows ever nearer to disappearing into the deep freeze by stealth.  I think there is only one way this is going now, when you follow this trend to its logical conclusion. A deeply cold beast from the east ! And perhaps some battleground events aswell !

Heartbreaking to see colder uppers from the East mixed out for, erm, 12 hours before they push back in from the West. Still, at least I'll have time to stock up on bread and milk before the next snow event(s).

There a your retrogression refrigeration and beginnings of MJO Phase 8. Imagine if we could avoid a mild day before that happened
