As you'd expect with this setup, once it's stopped snowing, it's rapidly heading towards a wet, slushy mess!

Heading up the A9 towards Thurso and seen nothing more than sleet, no lower than 1C. Some pretty impressive roadside drifts still, but looks like there was a lot more a few days ago.

I should hire myself out as a snowshield.

Exposed grass turning white again but suspect it won't last.

Dreich this morning with heavy sleet and wet snow. Got all cattle fed and bedded with clean  dry straw and have come back to house as windchill is pretty high with all the wet.   Currently 1c and can see proper snow level about two miles to the south of me . This is turning into along winter.

I wonder if it's snowing at home.  Rain in Aberdeen at the moment.

Looking a lot brighter here now, and a huge avalanche just slid off my roof so maybe starting to thaw. School still shut, no post since last Tues, no binmen, and everybody moaning at Scottish Borders  cooncil. Never once appeared here, not notifying parents if school transport is on or off, totally useless. Husband thinks they've sold off all the gritters to save money and are feart to admit it  :girl_devil:

Thaw continuing here with wet snaw/wintry mix (i.e. cauld p*sh) accompanying it this morning. Last week's snawcover getting patchier but most of the grass still covered. Still cauld: currently 1.1C/1C.

Models look to be keeping it on the cauld side and mainly unsettled for us for the foreseeable. Expect further snaw throughout the month - this winter isn't over by a long chalk.

Fun and games in some very unexpected conditions this morning.

Snow down to relatively low levels and snowing well on the high routes. Ended up having to dig the girl in the Mini out the snow bank. I was the only one with a shovel. The polis were as much use as a chocolate teapot when they turned up and the girl in the Mini couldn't find the towing eye to fit to the back to pull her.

I can't quite believe this but after a period of drizzly rain it's started snowing again!!

@Hawesy Your fired :cold::rofl: Heavy snow, M80 closed again, good inch covering when I left the house.

Aye I seem to be getting worse, instead of better, at the predictions as winter goes along. I’m blaming snow fatigue. :D

As @CatchMyDrift says it was all very marginal and the Met Office weren’t far off, evaporative cooling will have played a big part. It’s a tough business.

Was rain all day in coastal NE Fife....local flooding on roads is the issue now.

Has been absolutely chucking it down all day here.    All snow now assigned to the history books.     Looking forward to later in the week when it dries up a bit.

Another fun unexpected afternoon sledging with my son but that’s it for this winter. I have had enough now so the sledge is going back up in the loft until next winter :). I am hoping for some dry and mild weather to get the swings and trampoline back up :)

Plenty flooding in Aberdeenshire on low lying roads and heavy snow on the higher routes going by the flurry of posts on Fubar in the last couple of hours - https://www.facebook.com/pg/FubarNews/posts/

Stream here is now very high so suspect that will overflow in the next few hours.

We should keep track of when the last snaw from your areas leaves....

Will the Scottish mountains retain a few patches of compacted snow for a whole year this time?

Another inch or so fell this morning but very slushy looking so don't expect that too be hanging about any later than tomorrow. Any thoughts on the pest from the West, I doubt it'll give us any snow, amybe some flakes but mainly rain that will wash away the remaining snow.
