Grey skies, drizzle, foggy over the hills, little wind, temp 0.5C. A slow thaw continues.

I would appreciate some spring sunshine now.

After walking the kids to school and nursery I'm staggered at the number of selfish b@st@tds who appear to have spent Sunday afternoon claiming back 'their' on street parking by simply dumping huge piles of snow onto the previously cleared pavements! Kids forced to walk on the roads in places because of these morons

heavy rain here and 2c

drip

drip

hopefully snow cover on astroturf should last till tomorrow night and give me another week off coaching ?

kids are wired on a school night.....love coaching on weekends but weeknights are a trauma.... apparently its because the wee ones spend all day trying to be good in school but go bonkers at night.... so the local HT tells me.

looks quite chilly over night later in the week so any remaining snow will be freezing up then by the looks of it

still some signs of a potential NEserly but a mixed bag of models so no real clear indication of where we are headed.

I remember that happened a lot in 2010 as well, 101. Should be illegal! (Or maybe it already is?)

Ok, who's sick of the white stuff now? Glad we didn't get any of that white sh*te, it's such a pain when you can't get anywhere! Apparently the large Co-op in Portree was completely out of fruit and veg yesterday, someone posted a pic on FB, but the wee co-op in the town centre had enough of most things! I did notice a distinct lack of bread on Friday, but the vultures had been in by then! I'm just off to make bread now to go with the home made soup. Yum! Bread makers are brill! ?

Temperature has hovered around 1.5C here since 6pm yesterday.  Snowed off and on during daylight hours yesterday then turned to rain and basically been raining since then - moderate at the moment.

Amazing how quickly the snow disappears when its raining, looks like we've lost about 2 or 3" of snow cover in the last 12 hours.

Schools back today though thank goodness, kids were starting to get stir crazy.

Roads soaking wet, will be fun tomorrow morning if there is a frost overnight.

Still snow here but not heavy enough to land on the wet ground, perhaps due to the those damn bulbs. @hawesy?

Maybe higher up at @sawel part of the city it has a chance.

@Sawel what’s your elevation asl?

Met Office going with snow above around 200m so if you’re thereabouts that’s a good call.

@Norrance yeah wet bulb freezing level is around 400m over Dundee right now, according to GFS. Generally you want it to be less than 200m from your elevation for snow so it ties in with the above. Other factors in play of course, it’s only a rough guide.

Yep, still bits and pieces of snow in the forecasts (as well as rain) and probably a least a couple of frosty nights in most places this week. I don't think those drifts are going anywhere fast!

Here are a couple of drifts just outside Dundee at Muirhead courtesy of S Finn.

Any roads with fields to their East must have caught the drifts.

Drip Drip continues. Absolutely saturated with all the melt going on. Going to be quite sometime before you see completely dry ground again

My raingauge shows over 18mms rain / snow equivalent so no wonder there is so much water around with snowmelt added. Still raining steadily at 2.3C

I'm just over 140 metres ASL. The fact that I'm further inland has a bearing too compared to the rest of the town.

Temperature still around 1.5C but the rain is now becoming very sleety in nature.

Intermittent light to moderate rain in lochaber, about 4C and little wind. Plenty of slowly melting ice on the hillsides to catch the unwary. :vava:

The roads had a bit of slush from last night and were full of mincing commuters. :wallbash:

Ho hum, Monday morning...
