OK who over-ordered on the white stuff?

Been snowing for last two hours here but it's not settling where roads have been cleared.

Dirty money from the Scum.

I knew someone was going to say this?

Snowing lightly here all day but not lying

I notice white Xmas joining the list with Graeme b as snow bashers

Duly noted ?

Good stuff, hope you get hot chocolate and coffee like we got.:D

I missed the coffee but I did get to enjoy filling out a 'Decalaration of Fitness to Participate' form before I was allowed to start clearing :wallbash:

I know why they did it but I think it's madness!

We are forecast snow this afternoon and evening. So far we've had some small grainy stuff and I wouldn't be surprised if that's all we get.

On the other hand, I really want to be able to do a @More Snow type post at least once :help:

And over to plain rain now in Broughty Ferry. Leuchars now reporting 2c/1c.

What a 5 day spell that was!

Mrs Edo just came home from a trip to the cinema with bread.....what a legend.....takes kids away for 2 hours and becomes hunter gatherer...

In response to comments above about retail complaints I can only echo that in public experience.....When doing consultation on projects, invariably in less affluent areas people are delighted to get new facilities and focus on positives......... but as soon as you are in a more affluent area it is complaints scepticism and a focus on what is not being delivered.

Wet snow turning to wetter rain here.

ho hum. Think I can live with it given the last five days magnificence.

and right on cue the giant snowman’s head has just fallen off : symbolism at its finest

Good to know I’m not the only one who is emotionally exhausted! :D

Definite lessons to learn. For a start here was the very crude correlation between 850s and 2m temps here on the coast during the easterly flow over the last few days:

-14c = -1c

-12c = 0c

-10c = +1c

-8c = +2c

Whole lot of other factors in play of course but a useful thing to remember. Had it been December we would have been dealing with higher sea temperatures but much less solar input so interesting to think about how that would have affected the outcome...potentially even more snowfall generated but with more marginality around coasts? Who knows!

Wet sleety snow on and off all morning here. Managed to take dog out in the car for a run down to the beach. Roads clear enough but some good drifts at the roadside.

Sand has been stripped off part of Seafield beach with huge slabs of rock broken off and moved, also a lot of damage done to fences and walkways at Pathhead in Kirkcaldy.

Must have been quite a storm surge and waves. Tide was well out when we were down but still some wild surf even with the wind having dropped a bit.

Stay safe folks!

Had a fair bit more snow here and still on but light. Sainsbugs bringing my groceries but we're going to have to walk down to the A7 and meet him, then lug the stuff back up here in the snow. Wish I had a handy brat with a sledge I could mug... :D

850hPa temps good, 950hPa temps v marginal, it's a look outside and see, heavier bursts you would expect to see the white stuff although Euro 4 has mysteriously vanished it's ppn forecast for mid afternoon! Given these plots, suprised to see snow / snizzle at all today.

Midnight sees the 528 d line clear well North..

Still the outer realms of la la land until the 0 degree 850hPa line encompasses Scotland via a bit of a Nwrly to watch out for circa 10th March.

No such luck in the drizzle here otherwise I would have signed myself utterly unfit. Absolutely knackered now having cleared the car. The sunken drifts to the front and sides were just heavy clag and clearing 15-20ft of compacted snow and ice to give her a steer path into the clear middle of the road was hellish. Memo to self for next time: clear the bulk of it with a big brush while its still air-filled and light.

Earlier extremely light snow now turned to moderate slizzly pish. Love it.

A friend in the alps has posted a video of him snowed in - 1.5m in his garden. He sounds as sick of it as some of you guys.

My garden looks dreadful. All the early hopefuls (rhubarb, daffs, some shrubs in early bud burst) have gone all black.
