Hunners of snaw lying round a hot chemical plant in Grangemouth - remarkable.

Drive back to Dunblane going to be interesting.

Red warning well justified - M80 still stuck.

Very heavy snow back on here. Anyone’s guess just how deep it is now.

Just looked on the radar and there’s more coming through from the east??! Outside is just untouched dunes of snow on the road. No cars in the streets for hours.

The area to the north of the Central belt corridor looks like it’s been pasted.

I'm 10 miles north of Glasgow and it's been snowing heavily almost non stop since yesterday morning. It's been a constant train of showers. Snow depth was over 30cm when I went to bed last night and it's well above that now.

More incoming as well - this is turning out to be quite an event.

@edo Well!  We were both wrong, and not in a good way ;) Just measured and 6cm!

Now, it does bizarrely 'feel' and look like more than that, but the measuring stick doesn't lie!

However, it's absolutely baltic and still coming down... Also the buses are apparently off until at least 10am which I've never seen before, not even in 2010, so despite the lack of depth it's starting to inch towards the 'epic' category, and hopefully more to come!

For those digging themselves out this morning, good luck, and to those with less than me, I know your pain!

Huge amounts have piled up here overnight and just had another heavy shower pass through. No obvious let-up on the radar. Gap-whiteout-gap-whiteout and repeat.

@edo I gave up.  See we got a bit more but not the amounts I wanted.  Looks like we are stuck in the middle of two showers bands again! ?

Doesn't look like we've had a huge amount of snow overnight, but enough since I last measured that my footprints have been obliterated. I'll get out in a bit for an updated level.

Most of the schools closed for another day around here, so more time for the kids to develop a lifetime love of snow. :friends:

Catching the edge of showers this morning. For @hawesy. 16 to 17 cms in the back garden so you ended up not too far away. Last 4 to 5cms came in three or four heavy showers after midnight though.

An earlier shower and this morning.

Wow we,ve had another amazing amount of snow overnight!

Table was windblown yesterday and this morning it still looks like an epic total ! It’s been amazing snow. I’ll get out and measure shortly .

Posting before the elect goes off, lights flickering here. We seem to have feet of snow  -although its hard to see as all is a sea of deep bilowy white cushions ootside. The 10 steps to the front door have vanished and we have a ski jump instead. It's still snowing. We can't even get out with the ash and husband says the stove will go oot unless he digs a path. I'm not letting him get out of bed and start digging snow, he's 72 and it would kill him, so the stove will have to wait until we both get up and going. . And we've seen a couple of flashes of lightning. Hope to get back later with pics, if the power holds out :D

Stay safe Girlie! Don't go out just to get a piccie! Take it easy and stay by the fire wi' bucket loads o' tea and biccies! :cold:

That ended up respectable then. Difficult to gauge here in central Broughty Ferry, probably about 5-6cm but there’s nowhere undisturbed that I can accurately measure...wind has been epic throughout!
