The, what I thought was a shower starting at 10am, is still going here.  No more thunder though.

Gritters up and down all the time but roads filling in as fast as they're cleared.

More Snow - hang a heavy curtain at the front door that will cut out draughts.

Nah, we're hardier than those soft central belters.

Seriously, probably more to do with population density causing it to be raised rather than severity. If the M8 is closed with snow and people stranded everyone takes notice, if the B979 is the same.....

Yep, it seems to be reserved for the most populous areas of the UK with busy motorways, airports etc. Put it this way, how many times have you seen the highlands under a red warning? Zilch.

Drifting is really getting going here. Back roads just about passable to those who have decent tyres and know what they are doing.

A few phone snaps from short dug walk.

Big camera wasn't charged (d-oh). Will be for the next walk when snaw could be seriously impressive.

Although I agree to a certain extent with the Met's logic on this I think a 'red' should apply wherever there is threat to life or disruption regardless of population density.

In years to come many of us will be looking back on what is currently unfolding. Enjoy the snow everyone but more importantly stay safe and check on any elderly neighbours to make sure they are ok :)

i've gone one step further than that, i've taped the entire door up  and the snow continues to pile up outside, I'm totally gobsmacked by this today, never seen anything like it in my life, its even better than Feb 91 and I was living in Essex at the time and we got buried but this is better than that.

Trying not brag too much at home and at work - but I called the red on Sunday.

Hahaha - Edinburgh in a red warning! There is hope! Or has that just killed it?

Do you need to ask :nonono:Bonnie snow covered day in town, tourists loving it. Off topic, just having a hot chocolate in MacDonalds. Would it have been wrong of me to eat the 4 chicken nuggets that someone just walked away and left ? In the minutes I took to ponder that moral question, a staff member binned them. Won't make that mistake again...

So far most of the showers are heading either north or south of us here.

I'm not happy, in fact I'm quite sad. Bloody snow plough just went past here and trashed my road snaw.

I blame Humza Yousaf.
