Appreciate it Edo, all your comments tonight have made me smile. I've a nephew in Edinburgh and he's thoroughly p****d off that he's got very little snow. If it's any consolation I spoke with another nephew in Shawlands, Glasgow and they've just a light dusting.......but it's still coming down in Motherwell as I type?

im happy now.... 1 big mad shower was all it took

and now have a soft spot for the new snaw capital of scotland..... motherwell

edit

ooft heres a 2nd big mad shower

And the next shower begins.

Feels weird as all the house lights in my street are off which is very unusual so everyone appears to have gone to bed to keep cosy. That is apart from me who is staring out the window lampost watching

Really heavy again, I am starting to worry how I will get home later. My manger doesn’t give a toss :unsure2:. Hopefully the roads are not that bad.

Quick update from here: absolutely Baltic oot (or more accurately, Siberian). Only a covering of snaw yet, but am keeping the faith that we'll get whumphed over the next several days. Gauge currently reading -3.1/-9C, but that Beasterly wind is brutal: will scythe through yer bits till they're bits & pieces. Night all and 'MON THE SNAW!

I went out to take a few measurements and have 8cms measured on flat ground (no grass) in my front garden.

Mine will have to wait for morning though I don't think that I am far behind.

Nah, that only happens when there's 3 cms in London Town.

When are the coldest uppers due to arrive??

Between about now and 9am. Last time we had uppers like this was 1991. It's possible you'll never experience uppers like this again in your lifetime.

I'm sitting lamppost watching and I'm so impressed so far, outbreaks of blizzard like conditions, short breaks with gusting winds blowing the polystyrene like snow up and about, thundersnaw....unbelievable Jeff, I'm staying up until the lighting X appears o  the radar map just for my own sanity! Brilliant ?

Oh what a night. It's been snowing here for about 3 hours now, light then heavy. About 5-6cm lying. I can't take my eyes off the radar, more on it's way it appears.Glasgow City appears to have taken quite a substancial hit, the traffic cams look nuts, M77 and M80 also. In between the showers it's been quite odd as the moon has been out, lighting up the garden and field. Well it appears on the radar another flurry in the next 10 minutes or so. I don't want to go to bed.

Keep warm.

Radar shows a wee gap until the next lot hits. Gonna try and get back to sleep.

Night all.

I've been to bed and got back up, slept an hour. I might go outside for a wee wonder. It's really bright even when it's snowing. Fabulous night and then we can see what the next 48hrs+ will bring. So far, so epic :)

Ive been traffic cam watching, and large parts of the country have a fair bit of snow lying. Mainly the length of the East Coast, Central and Central Belt. Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow doing well on the radar.  Plenty more showers and bands tracking in. Some reports of thunder snow.

Enjoy your walk if you go out.
