I checked the temperature during that shower. It was -3.3C so no wonder that it was drifting in the wind. More to come too!?

Hope your all looking forward to our upcoming Snowy spell!

I don’t often post in here but I’m a long time lurker and love reading the forum! Great to see the majority of us should see some of the white stuff this week.

Can echo @Paul Martin comments earlier about missing the showers, didn’t snow here in Prestonpans for 3 hours or so. However I’m assuming there must have been a subtle change in wind direction as we have been hit with two heavy snow showers in the last hour that’s left a beautiful covering of a few cm’s on all surfaces! Winter Wonderland and this is only just the start! ?

Last shower was rattling off the window so hard I thought for a minute it was raining. If these showers manage to merge more someone will get a real pasting.

Next one on  already. Thought that it might just miss to the North but there is still a slight North of East element to the wind. May just be catching the edge though as not as heavy as the red on the radar indicated, at least not yet.

I’m off to bed, this easterly lark is exhausting. See you all in the morning and we’ll see how things stand then!

Two inches of powdery snow now and currently  -4.5c.  Might be old age but conditions out there make me feel that we are just half way through winter and not anywhere near spring although the stocks of feed and and bedding for the animals tell a different story. No science but I think its going to be a very  cold spring

lolz of course mate.... im not some mad mad from the model thread.... like OTR i love to see everyone have copious amounts of snaw...

Appreciate it Edo, all your comments tonight have made me smile. I've a nephew in Edinburgh and he's thoroughly p****d off that he's got very little snow. If it's any consolation I spoke with another nephew in Shawlands, Glasgow and they've just a light dusting.......but it's still coming down in Motherwell as I type?

Well I'm off to bed now, another really heavy shower coming through at the moment although not quite as squally as the last one. I thought it could be impressive but the depths we've reached so far here in such a short space of time have been incredible and this is only the start of the proper snow potential.
