First "proper" 2010-style snow shower hitting Leith just now. A few more direct hits like that on the radar and we'll be on the way.

Nothing to report over the other side of Edinburgh by the airport just now.

Is it lying?

Wet snow lying in Edinburgh.. Biting cold wind, feels like we switched from spring to winter in 5 minutes. Unbelievable. A good taste of things to come over night.

Seriously folks, wrap up well!

Hi everyone, long time no see!

You were much-missed even by emigrants like me (still settling-in down in Telford, Shropshire, but a sudden foot of snow in early Dec helped with that!).

Very lovely to see you back again. You should see the huge grin I've got from seeing your name back up in here where it belongs!

What I actually popped in to say, but got side-tracked by seeing LS back home, was - have a fantastic few days, Eastern Kilties, and enjoy your walloping of snow!

Oops, I mean snaw. Gawd, I've gone native already and it's only been three and a half years... ;)

Hail has now stopped. Snow flurries upon us.

Sky has considerably darkened over the past few minutes. No blue sky to be seen anymore.

2mm's down, 13.8cms to go !

Next radar-blob hitting us now.  Visibility dropped and being blasted by fine talcum powder snaw.

Same in West Edinburgh, sounds like hail against the roof.

Keep seeing flurries here. Never lies though. Am I right in thinking this is because the temp remains above 0?

Shouldn't matter too much. You just need more of it falling for a bit longer. Coming together gradually on this side of town.
