Hey guys

Hope you don't mind me inhabiting your regional thread whilst I'm here lol!

As I say,  I'm in Strathyre until Friday,  forecast looks great! I'm hoping for a good snow day tomorrow,  what do you all think? :)

Mountain weather forecast for south-east highlands mentions heavy snow, whiteout and risk of lightning. Obviously conditions down in Strathyre, (sheltered by the side of Loch Lubnaig with high hills to the east) won’t be as intense, but I’d be surprised if there wasn’t a decent amount of snow.

Definitely not a day for going up a hill!

That's the hailstones on then!

Graupel? When you squeeze the pellets do they break up...if so it's graupel rather than hail....:)

It's funny, the Lomonds are positive cloud magnets for the rest of the year. The rest of Fife basks in sunshine while we sit in drizzle ;-)

Not a lot happening here yet in this wee corner of East Lothian, still awfy sunny , only had 3 wee showers all day so far. Snaw has all melted from earlier. Getting twitchy ???

On the the plus side it’s blooming freezing and mair cloud about, coming in on the breeze. Time for a dog walk to see if I can catch a snaw shower ??

It does, thanks for that! I'll add it to my list of weather terms I bandy about to appear far more knowledgable than I am ? And it's just coated the ground nicely for the big fluffy flakes ?

Oh look who gets zippo from that projection

My 50% English self says:  "You're on the little peninsula between the three masses of water at the top of the map aren't you"?)  50% Scot self says:  "A f'n telt ye' ye' were covered wi' the weather warnin' "}!

Lovely bright sunny day in Inverurie at the moment. A quick estimate of 2-3cm on the car this morning at 8am but no doubt some melting will have occurred before the real cold air moves in later.

Had to wear my hat when I took the dog out this morning. There are some snow flakes coming down just now...might need to look the big coat out later. Not sure if any of us will survive this hell.

BBC page comments.

Noticed met office had downgraded Perth to 1 snowflake symbol tomorrow ... i assume the main activity will be just south of Perth or still time to change?

I wouldn't take much notice of these. They change all the time and I believe have no manual input. Take more note of the written bits underneath?
