BBC national forecast showed 4s and 5s as temps in Eastern Scotland tomorrow. Looks a bit high to me! Reporting Scotland had 3s which I hope is a bit high too.

it was sub zero on the national for Wednesday though with heavy snow.

It’s blatant Weegie-favouritsim on my part! :D. But easterlies are notoriously good for Glesga....if things align properly Glasgow may well see more snow than Embra due to upsloping......if things align properly!

I wouldn’t worry too much @edo there’s always the chance I’m wrong!

Tbh, @Hawesy, that sounds about right for up till Wednesday. Hopefully more later in the week here.

(beginning to think I used up all my snow in the early December spell...)

That's the bog standard BBC build up to an easterly when it comes to Scotland. Can't see how 5C comes to pass widely tomorrow. Been fine snawflakes blawin aboot here in Leith for a while (wasn't even expecting that today) and no anxieties whatsoever about the coming few days.

I'm still expecting Thursday's yellow warning to be upgraded to amber tomorrow or no later than Wednesday. I'd expect to see at least a yellow warning for Friday nearer the time and this too could possibly turn to amber.

Some talk in the the mod thread regarding a possible polar low!? Someone said it's primed for Northern England, any thoughts on this (polar low that is not Northern England ?).

@Hawesy 16cm that’ll dae nicely! Thank you for this, shall take a measure from the old ootside table (when’s official measuring day ?)

i have no clue what to expect tomorrow, kinda feel little mention of Scotland in the recent forecasts except the 10-20cm mention , otherwise all England centric sadly.

However i’ll  stick in here fir mair precise info??. Snaw blawin in the wind all morning and the wind has definitely picked up a bit, feeling Baltic withoot my gloves on. The dog however doesn’t seem to mind lol ?

Wednesday wow

Ask Catch......He's the expert on those because he's been caught out in the past if my memory serves me well    They are very difficult to identify and forecast correctly.

Don’t think it’s technically a polar low although it’s been coined as that by various tv weather presenters. As far a I can see from charts it’s a low tracking in North Sea and rather unusual I’d think borders would be in for a pasting off it
