Amber oot on Wednesday for the east!

That serves me right for being sarcastic!

I’m rather liking the mention of lightning in these warnings. It’s hard to beat a bit of thundersnow.

Just go shut the door and ignore her if that happens.

If she's making too much noise, phone her parents and ask them to pick her up. Failing that, an ambulance.

Absolutely no way you should miss this incoming snaw.

Good point there - I bet ambulances aren't fitted with winter tyres.  I think you should offer your services!

Still up around Aviemore. Bit chilly in the tent last night, mind. But worth it for the views this morning.

It's cloudy back here today with a cool breeze off the sea. Looks fab up in Speyside!

Thank you for all the name suggestions and comments - much appreciated!

This Metoffice warnings malarkey is starting to give me a sore head - my location has three separate warnings out for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. (All yellow not Amber like some of you lucky folk!)

I am either going to end up with 2 cm from all of them or over 10 cm!

@Hawesy will you be doing the snow predictions for us all? :D

I imagine the yellow warning for Thursday will be upgraded to Amber nearer the time. I don't think the MO normally issue Amber warnings that far in advance.

If that verifies as the MR is showing, we may see red for the central belt on Thursday - that's an epic forecast.

I think I’ll stick to the info on this thread for the rest of this week as I’m not really interested in chasing the breakdown on the model thread!!

Why can’t they just enjoy what’s ahead this week ?

i know, 200 posts on one low pressure system on Friday and what it may or may not do south of the M4, whilst large swathes of the northern UK will see a lot of falling snow

does my head in ...

It's amazing how quickly the temperature has just dropped off. Have been working outside this afternoon, and since 1PM it's gone from being pleasant to absolutely Baltic.

Still absolutely gorgeous here although ever so slight increase in wind but nothing noticeable................YET! Soon as it gets to 5 o'clock or so temperatures seem to drop like a stone. That's a sign of things to come

Good luck @Mr Frost and Mrs Frost!!

I have a snow baby too! I spent a week in ninewells hospital glued to this forum watching out a window at the lampposts ? Last thing I remember before being put under for an emergency section was the surgeon saying, you can tell your baby it just started snowing as she was about to be born! It snowed the day we left the hospital then snowed the day we went to register her birth!

My first was born in November and the nurse with me was Australian, she had never seen snow. She had the bloody windows wide open and the snow battering in, I thought I was goin to die of pneumonia before the baby arrived
