I may have to start lying in my reports Catch as it's feeling particularly repetitive this winter "14c and almost spring-like today, considering mowing the lawn" ?

Check out the Achnasheen forecast, looks lots of fun

I was looking at the forecast for Cougie for the next few days, to see what the track will be like to get up there and what snow cover may be left, as last night the forecast was indicating a bit of a thaw starting at the weekend.

All change - highest temp there for the next week is 3C...

Cold and windy here but dry with a ground frost first thing, currently 3.5c.

A cock pheasant has taken to appearing every morning at the bird feeder P2151106.thumb.JPG.e0e88a0f6a4be4e7c8b6ff3af06c7b3c.JPGas all wildlife is very hungry now and even feed supplies for farm livestock are getting scarce and going up in value with the wet cold winter and autumn making everything eat more. A cold late spring would put a lot of pressure on the countryside up here from  wildlife to livestock to arable.

The MT is just a joke ?? so many people take it so seriously and then resort to arguing, grown men and women ?

Meanwhile it's starting to snow here .....

?? To the Model Thread ?

Not sure we will see any tonight, too far East again. Met seem to agree with us well outside the warning area.

Evening all,

Wind was the most noticeable thing about today’s weather locally, sitting at a steady 30mph with higher gusts. Temperature made it up to 6c but felt colder.

Looks like a quieter few days ahead, both in terms of the weather and the thread. I wonder if after that we’ll be bracing ourselves for (meteorological) winter’s last hurrah? Wouldn’t mind issuing one more set of snowfall predictions before the season is out! :)

Heavy sleet/wet snow here now with it accumulating on car windscreens... Those higher up should do well!

Some heavy snow on the way home from work, lying on the road at 180 metres and above. Blinding trying to drive into the huge flakes.

Wet snow and slushy deposits in the heavier bursts here at home at 130 metres.

had started to doubt tonight but those charts that I posted last night from the euro 4 appear to be coming to fruition ... heavy snow here and just starting to settle.

Radar looks respectable aswell

Ha, ha, ha, after watching the reaction in the MOD thread as this afternoon's runs trickled out, which were generally awful for cold,  I nearly wet myself laughing at tonight's ECM...

ECH1-240.GIF?15-0

It's in the realms of FI, but looks like the ECM is today's 'last great hope' after being as the party pooper all week.

Earlier rain/sleety pish has turned to wet snow here. Not a hope of anything settling though unless it peps up.
