Looking like we can write tonight off, it was a highly marginal event lots of respect to those who put there neck on the line for this, and congrats to those on higher ground!

One of the few times in my time with netweather their model output in the very short range just didn’t seem right.

Luckilly we have multiple chances for snaw next week, Tuesday standing out more than any at least imby.

Not a flake here overnight as far as I can tell, just rain. Beautiful morning though.

Worst ice of the winter up here. I just went out for a walk before breakfast but didn't get beyond the house! Be careful if you're heading out, whether it's on foot or in a car.

Will be interested to hear from @CatchMyDrift @scottish skier and @shuggee this morning but already my predictions are looking too generous for the south and east. :sorry:

We’re now in wait and see mode as colder air filters in from the west the snow showers should get going. Still plenty of time until tomorrow at midnight (is what I’m telling myself!) :D

So many beautiful heavy snow showers out west but as aggy said they are just dying out as they approach the west coast. We need the winds to turn more westerly.

1-2 cm of crusty snaw here.

While it was impressive when falling last night, the front moved so quickly there wasn't time to get much out of it.

Beautifully bright and sunny looking day outside,  but not a hint of any white stuff.

One thing that is still the case: no forecast or chart or wet finger in the air is able to say whether it's going to snow here any better than me with the good old council lamp post. Euro4: 3/10; NMM4: 2/10; radar: 4/10; BBC broadcast with the knicker-sniffer on heat: 2/10, etc. Here I don't even have the advantage of there being another NW Highlander to the north-west.

Moan over. Back to bed to nurse the lurgy again.

Hello, hello, can you hear me? This is the Upper Tweeddale jury dialling-in.

4cm at my hoose. A very crusty surface of ice. A701 yet to be gritted, so a fun drive to Moffat!

We need to have a Heilan recruitment drive, find more highland based weather aficionados/ resort to attaching GoPros to some sheep

Morning all.   Same as Cheggers for me last night.   After heavy rain,  skies cleared and turned icy.

Windy but braw day here.

Keep in mind, good people, that the predictions were for snowfall through to Midnight tomorrow, plenty of time for  miracle  the westerly to deliver. :D

What a surprise, the first shower of the (waking) day here is rain.

Colder air filtering in this afternoon should turn showers to snow later even at the coast. Whether they lie or not is a different matter. As a fellow coastie good luck to you!

Just had a heavy but brief snow shower. If those showers out west were moving in a more westerly direction then I would be out just now building a snowman with the kids :)
