Great reporting from the Daily Mail again:rofl:

Brilliant spot !! I'm still laughing :D

Residents of Saddleworth Moor had to clear snow from their windscreens. Chaos indeed :)

I guess the major downside to this being the 'UK's coldest week of the winter' is the decimation of my snow cover before lunchtime :wallbash:

I don't want to sound mean spirited but this is the 2nd time @Hawesy has failed miserably in the predictions for me. The other time I got 15cm and the prediction was 2cm, got 6cm this time on another feeble 2cm prediction. Pffffft. Useless!!

I know!   He's hardly worth the huge salary we pay him.   Might have to look at that!:D

Afternoon all!

Well I woke up this morning to a massive...two centimetres!

It was just light snow to moderate snow here. (moderate being a 20 minute period) All very bizarre as it looked like I was in for at least five centimetres! I am guessing all the heavier action went North, East and South of me from looking at the snow depths/pictures in here. Even just up the road from me in East Kilbride they had the same amount as me! (up there just now - nothing left on pavements or roads, shaded areas have two centimetres max) - feels pleasant in the sun!

Good to see all the pictures and reports from everyone - glorious stuff! :santa-emoji:

Fantastic to see snow chances galore in a couple of days and beyond - what a bloody good Winter we are having!  :reindeer-emoji:

Cheers! :drinks:

Och well, not much more has fallen in the way of white stuff, although we did have a huge black cloud following us all the way from Portree this afternoon and it proceeded to dump all of 1cm on us by the time we got home! So about 2cm has fallen where we are in Skye although I believe that the west coast of the island got a fair dumping this morning. Turning rather nippy now that the sun has disappeared, so we'll see what the rest of the week brings us! :cold:

And to think I thought it would be the likes of @Hairy Celt and @101_North who would be giving me a hard time.  At least I underestimated....if I'd overestimated you might not talk to me ever again! :D However I'm slowly learning that Greenlaw is a bit of a snow magnet!

Bright sun and fairly rapid thaw this afternoon. Started to freeze as the sun went down. Pleasant if chilly out.

Beautiful day.  Heavy snow and twice the normal time to commute in.  (Some dildo was driving at 30mph with 17 cars behind him on the way into Penicuik).  Then glorious sunshine on Princes Street by Waverley and now -7C with powder snow at home.  Lovely :D

I am off work this week with a sore back so I have nothing better to do than look at the models :p

There are plenty of great posts in the model forum (for a change) and stratosphere forum about the upcoming SSW that is soon to take place this week. The polar vortex is about to be split as shown below.

The models are already hinting of heights building over Greenland or Scandinavia which could bring a proper beast from the East. Plenty of fun before that though with some decent PM shots coming up.

Very interesting times ahead over the next few weeks I feel :)

Don't apologise! It has always seemed ludicrous to automatically screen a post for some version of publically acceptable vocabulary. Shakespeare would cringe.

Don't give me that easterly worship dog biscuits. Last easterly we had gave me 3 weeks of cool grey skies and utter BOREDOM.

Very wintry sunset over the Firth tonight with snow showers peppered round the horizon.Had a couple of nice snow/grauple showers late in the afternoon to add to the dusting and the frost stayed in the shade all day. Currently clear and -2c and the mud is crunching up.
