What's the track on that Ross?  As Shugee says, easterly or ESE'ly?

Mr Frost.. STRATHAVEN in SOUTH LANARKSHIRE is getting absoulutley pummeled.

I know but the point I am making is that is probably the first heavy shower to pass through there today - the sun will be splitting the trees there in five minutes.

We were getting pummelled ten minutes ago and now it’s clear.

I just don’t see how they can justify school closes today for South Lanarkshire when Tuesday was 100 times worse and her school was open - they are going on extinct information/Amber warning that is already a bust as they got it very wrong from first thing this morning - all the action was further North.

Snowing in Motherwell at 1235.

Yes, just melting into the ground though.  Seems that bit milder than Tuesday.  Decided yesterday just to stay put at home today on the strength of the forecast/warning - wonder if the heavier stuff lurking out west will justify it?

Both BBC and MetO think that's going to be heavy rain for me.

Figures.

Edit - school has been closed here..

Yes - they have been getting a pasting since this morning and it looks as though they will continue to do so this afternoon.

We seem to be living off the scraps currently down here.

That big blob out to the west isn't going to worry anyone round these parts unless the track changes. Hopefully it'll veer SE'ly as it hits the West Coast. Other stuff starting to appear on the radar though so a waiting game...... Hopefully it'll all merge into one huge band as it approaches.

Bright sunshine in Greenock but very heavy snow reported at home with that next big blob looking like it will be on a similar course.

This photo captures the epic snowfall in St Andrews this morning (you may need to stare at the grass). I can only hope it’s this good back in Broughty Ferry. :D

It's been pretty much due Easterly so far so some has even made it here. Hopefully for may it stays that way.

The gaps in band are starting to fill in with a slight ese movement.  Could be quite a clump of showers from the section just north of northern Ireland if it can get a bit more organised, heading for the Amber zone too.
