At least this upcoming week should be more interesting than the one just passed with colder interludes at times bringing some wintriness, mainly further north and  on high ground. ECM and UKMO still more amplified than GFS so will be interesting to see how the longer term plays out. With background signals including strat warming, MJO forecasts improving, I still think we will see at least one decent cold spell with more widespread snow potential during February, and probably in to March .....then roll on spring

Not expecting much in the NW after the last north westerly. If little came then god knows what comes now! High ground will surely do well. Eyes on February

They are easterlies on the brain and it rarely happens. Looks like we may get a Wee bit of snow from out great NW friend. Much rather have that than the phantom !

ECM long ranger ditches any Easterly idea for February, short lived North Westerlies look the best bet for cold

Seems to be the theme this winter and to be honest it's been a great winter so far compared to the past 3/4 years. Sperrin is in the hot spot this year and even Rochey has seen a bit of snow. Hope see a wee shower or 2 in the early hours of Wednesday.

If this was Oct or start of nov tomorrows snow potentional would have this forum alight. :D

Don’t expect much, if any, but good to see all the same, a bit of interest may gather around the radar mid morning.

Automated MetO showing heavy snow at my location for 3 hrs from 11am.....I know the crack with them, but interesting all the same

Aye defo or if we hadn't had a flake yet this winter. Met Éireann snow warning out now too for Northern counties. Mentions especially over high ground as well.

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
