Unfortunately it looks like the GFS is following suit to the earlier UKMO. Not good if you are looking cold anytime soon.

I agree, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a big swing in the NWP either way between now and T-48. There has been some wild swings in the last 48!

 

Very interesting developments on the Strat charts too. Looks like we may have a good old fashioned very cold (in parts) winter ahead of us!

A westward shift of 100 miles or so would see a lot of us with hopes up for next weekend, quite a few in mod thread could be in for a massive let down over the next few runs, hopefully not though
