Getting a bit windy out there at the moment.  Heavy rain coming down, hopefully there is a quieter interlude before the real shenanigans during the later morning.

Pretty wild morning here on the east coast, plenty of structural and trees damaged. Phoenix park closed. I'd have enjoyed the wildness a lot more if I wasn't working!

Well what a year it has been so far...

From snow and beasts to sun, droughts, heatwaves and storms, 2018 will be remembered fondly....and it ain't over yet....

Nice settled week coming up to see out September.....who knows what October to December will bring...my gut tells me we may well see more extremes in keeping with the year so far....maybe more autumnal storms before another switch to winter proper ?....

Hang on for the ride folks.....and enjoy this upcoming settled spell

It's a slow start this year folks. Could be a good thing in the long run I suppose. Hope you are all well and looking forward to chasing more phantom snowy setups this winter. Lol

Yep. As the eldest fella says "on it like, a car bonnet"!

Started this week looking at the far reaches of the GFS for heights growing north of us at months end. I have nothing to report of any excitement yet!

Not a nice one Friday...

No, it isn't, is it? You'll be blasted first then it heads north and wallops into Scotland and Northern England. Tie everything doon and make sure you have all batteries charged and plenty of candles to hand! Stay safe!

Friday looking nasty for us, some of the trees still have a fair few leaves, won’t take much wind to release them.

I would expect an amber warning from metO and metE tomorrow if these charts still showing

Hope you are all ok in sunny Ireland! We've already had a power cut here on the Isle

of Skye, and I hope it's the only one! Stay safe folks!

A serious amount of rain here all morning, gone by mid afternoon. A few trees down locally, but nowhere near as bad as Ali. More heavy rain here tomorrow morning too!

I’m surprised no weather warning for rain today, it’s been heavy all day and roads are flooded!
