Looks like more snow being forecast later this evening and overnight. Mentions turning sleety only to low  levels so anybody with a bit of altitude could get constant snow. U could be in the game again MS. NW areas not so much so and drier.

Wow that was a lot of snow. About a foot of snow out there and drifts 3 or 4 ft in the lane up to the house. Just waiting for the lads to come up with tractors to feed the cattle and that should clear it up a bit.

Haven't needed to get out as we were fully stocked with supplies. Been out clearing paths to the sheds as it's turning slushy in places and if that freezes it will be lethal.

Here's the snow in my area yesterday morning, looks like it's nothing compared to what some of you got

Made it for a stroll up the local hill today (Louchcrew Cairns) The snow depths made it very tough going, walking on top of the snow one second  then ending up waist deep.

Brought a surfboard too which was great craic! My friend had a make shift sleigh which we repeatedly went over an 8ft ledge of a snow drift on. Fun afternoon but totally wrecked now.

The views were absolutely stunning, like a beautiful painting.

I have never seen so much snow in my life like today,I was trying to reach my friend who lives in  Manor Kilbride on Sally gap road(Wicklow Mountains)  to give him a lift to the shops as he spent last 4 days in his house not knowing that he is completely snowed in and there is no access to the village as the main road has 7ft drifts, the digger only managed to clear only about a third of the road necessary to reach main street, mountain rescue was leaving after helping elderly woman out and I had to park my van at the end of the cleared part and continue walking on top of a drift for a while, before I got to his estate, then I was sinking knee deep while walking about 500 meters towards his house, that was probably the mean snow depth, some experience, then a senior mountain rescue member confirmed that this is worse than 1982 event up there! :)

my world is now @ 50% snow covered .. and lots of it quite deep .. love the muffled crunch you feel when you walk in proper snow .. it's been a long time coming . The lane is still blocked .. my car is at the road end .. first spin today .. shall take a proper look around tomorrow .

it's been great hearing about and seeing everyone's various experiences .. mine has been close to purrfect . :)

My back garden today compared to 2 days ago.

Well it was a good little cold spell, but a bit too much of a wham bam thank you mam job imo.I much preferred the cold spells of Jan 2010 and Dec 2010. Nothing I love more for example then clear frosty nights with snow cover, didn't get that with this cold spell. No hard frosts to help protect the snow from temps getting above zero. Though I suppose the amount of snow some got perhaps that's a good thing or they would be snowed in for weeks lol.

Heavy rain here now and 3 degrees. Feels miserable! Grey cold and damp! Most of the snow melted apart from the piles and the drifts!

Me and you both brother!  I thoroughly enjoyed this event, though quite short lived, it was very memorable! I'll still pop into the MOD thread into summer and here from time to time, as we generally do stay-cations so need to pick out the Spanish plumes for camping!!! But I reckon we will see a huge downturn in traffic both here and the MOD thread.

Aye, it’s getting to that time of year where the Convective Discussion thread will be in full swing. Hopefully after a winter reminiscent of old we’ll see summer follow suit with long hot sunny periods and earth trembling thunderstorms a plenty! ?

I think we'll see more snow before March is done. Obviously not on the scale of the past week for those that saw it.

Got more than enough snow this winter to keep me happy so looking forward to spring warmth now, but yes would not be surprised to see at least one more cold spell with some snow before March is out. The cold spells have come  thick and fast since November so still think there is a final sting in winters tail....

What a miserable day yesterday was!!

What a miserable day today is. Heavy rain since I woke. Snow will not be long hanging around now!

Tbough Iv had snow on the ground since Tuesday night so it will be good to see green grass again. Nearly a week of lying snow is good in my eyes
