Wind is NE. That’s the problem. Should be more easterly tomorrow which should help. But this so called beast from the east is horrific. And I won’t be chasing a SSW again with such verve in future years.

Nope have to agree with that. Saw more snow and colder weather on a NW’ly ?

Met Éireann forecaster on radio just now said the North West won't know what we're talking about. Bodes well lol

I would say thats accurate. East Northern Ireland might do well but NW looks poor to be honest.

I’m having serious doubts - everyone in work is hoping heavy snow arrives (even the boss) so they can get out of some events - normally everyone’s cursing the snow - they’re all jinxing it lol - this is the type of situation when it doesn’t happen lol

A big blob I was watching on the radar just passed through. Turned everything white for about 10 minutes. Temperature dropped from 4.7 to 0.3 in less than 10 minutes. Evaporative cooling at its best. Radar looks kind of quiet for now though!

That highest total is right over the wicklow mountains. Met eireann could issue a red warning tonight or by tomorrow morning if its looking likely.

Since the criteria for a red warning is just 8cm, there will absolutely be red warnings. Just a matter of how extensive.

BBC weather update there on the news channel didn't even mention Friday which shows the uncertainty. Missed Angies forecast. Anyone see it?

Snow blanketed all over Ireland but was zoomed out so hard to see. Mentions disruptive snow Thurs/Fri (or is it Saturday?), not much until then for NWers though East and North seeing frequent showers.

Looks pretty good.  Frequent showers tomorrow and Thurs mainly in the east but some towards north coast. then widespread prolonged snow with disruption. ?

Looks like a band of heavy showers could be heading our way from the west coast of Scotland and a streamer heading to Dublin!

Guys I wish you well for the big event

If dublin gets 60cm of snow then it will be historical

The veey best of luck - also elsewhere

@Sperrin 7 inches here / 20cm - closing in on your 12 inches

parts of North kent will be 40cm by end of tonight

What’s your thinking on the ‘big event’ Steve for Ireland. Some of us are thinking damp squib, but with the models flipping about so much and certainty levels low, it’s had to be positive.

Good to see your getting a good dumping
