OK. Of all the disappointments in the last 8 years, this is by far the worst!

All the baseline figures were in place, the precipitation was supposedly heavy enough and the ground was dry and cold enough.

Apart from the few flakes covering at it's inception, this has turned into slizzle. Melted the few flakes that have settled. The radar is even less encouraging. The lamp post looks like a swarm of fu***** mosquitos as opposed to falling butterflies.

In fact, as I look out now, the droplets are all rain. With a few slizzles thrown in. Balls to that ladies! The dog is going to bed!

The Dublin snow shield fights back... It's like Terminator Vs Terminator!

Still snowing here and a covering beginning to take shape now. Heavier piece inbound going by radar. Hopefully what Antrim is getting.

I do believe the second band that goes through scotland and drops down in west NI is intensifying. One to watch?

Was a second band even forecast?

I’m in the East / I noticed the netweather forecast had the heaviest precipitation for my area between 3am-9am interestingly. That was when I checked it earlier this evening

I don’t think so it wasn’t even not shown on the models I believe. Some good snowfall to be seen currently.

Well the radar is showing something over me but nothing is falling. Rain has now stopped. Would love to see something before the night is out. If not tonight then tomorrow evening is my next window of opportunity before the rain sets in again.

The shower here at the minute is very heavy, place was white this morning and currently being topped up.  The freeze last night has made the roads like an ice rink this morning.

Last nights front we got hasn't pushed to far into the mainland uk going by the radar.

A few cms fell here last night in south Kilkenny. Steady snow for a good few hours though there was a slight thaw after snow stopped , with skies remaining cloudy but much better than expected . Third event this winter with lying snow so not bad considering  we have yet to see proper blocking.

Some places may get a covering again later today....

Not a bad wee event here. A solid 2-3 inches. This really has been one of the best winters in years.
