It's slow moving though, so could still deliver 5-10cm, maybe more over higher ground. Looks to be intensifying as it moves East.

Yes anywhere with any sort of elevation ASL say 80-100 metre and above will do quite well I would imagine.

What's the prospects for tomorrow evening / Wed evening? I've hockey both nights and wouldn't mind it being cancelled due to frozen pitch :nonono::fool:

This definitely is a slow moving front, looking forward to later now.

The ground is nice and dry around here, dew points around 0 to -1 at present, very light wind, nice cold ground.

Funny this pic came up on my Facebook memories today from this day 2013. Certainly feels alot colder today for snow than it did few weeks back when we only got light dusting which quickly melted away.

I would think you may have a good chance of it being called off for ice.

If you look at the netweather radar and run it through animation you can see that the precipitation touches the Donegal coast at 2pm and at 4pm it's just reached the border with NI. Really slow moving and precipitation is broadening and intensifying too.

For me personally I prefer fast moving rain to slow moving rain!!

I prefer slow moving snow and hoping I get it later. Looks good but who knows.

First pinks starting to show already. All forecasts said it would be a rain turning quickly to snow event as well. Looks exactly that on the radar.

Not looking too good for here early on. It's after the front moves through that most of NI will see some snow showers so hopefully a bit of a dusting by morning.

Yes hopefully this front gives us a wee covering for the  showers later tonight and tomorrow. Tomorrow eve not without interest either.

Just called in from north west thread ,are you getting out from this ?

It’s just hit the west side which was supposed to be generally rain. It’s as it works away across Northern to the east it turns to snow so should know in an hr or two.
