Well, i'll just reserve judgement until it has past, because it could end up being further south, than predicted!

I'm going to trust the EURO4 more since it picked up the Warm Sector, and the GFS did not.

I reckon we will know by 6Z EURO4.

Gfs did pick up the warm sector 850s went from -7 to -4 on its forecast.

I'm very surprised there's anything left on the ground here at all this morning. It' all a slushy mess but there's still a little bit of snow hanging on.

Going to reserve my judgement on this event tonight until i see the updated 06z WRF model it's been spot on with these events all winter should be updating soon.

Put it this way the professionals are not very confident so close to the event just listen to there forecasts.

the 8.30 bbc uk weather video on their site looks really good for much of the North, Far east looks like it could miss out, but could be a solid 4/5 hours of snow :O

Tonight's weather warning for snow has just been updated to include the whole of Northern Ireland!

I'm doubtful I'll see much here on the coast but you never know.

Actually we're the prime spot.

Which is the problem. North West was in the firing line for those ripe, heavy fresh snow showers but I don't know what happened. Very little of them were prolonged they just came and went seemingly intensifying over land, not even enough for plus 1cm so a lot of disappointment afoot. Not getting my hopes up for tonight either looks marginal at best for lowies like myself and rain will surely wash it away after though Thursday night looks promising for some more people! Though the east got the worst of it that is a change for them considering most of the time NW don't deliver so potently for them so that's an upside :)

Very happy that RocheyDubs snowshield got smashed and the pictures are stunning keep sending em tonight and after

This is a frontal weather system where the precipitation will be heavy and stationary for several hours allowing evaporative cooling to take hold, so it's a little different.

Pain in ass when the snow cant even get lying a day. It was sliding of the roof during the middle of the night. Bring back 2010

Snow is readily lying above 200 metres. A good 4 inches up there.
