Netw radar looks to be working again, showers continue to pile in. Really need a couple of heavy ones here to get a covering as any snow thats fallen hasn't stuck.

Next couple of days looking interesting to. Hopefully we see some good falls today, would be great to see some of the showers merge.

Not a drop of snow lying below 150 metres! Not even on the grass!

The EURO4 made it out that we'd be waking up to a few centimetres by morning, so did the BBC.

It was snowing heavily off and on with a temperature hovering between freezing and 1 degree all night, so I'm surprised it didn't stick.

If we can't even get a mere covering in these conditions, I'm thinking we may give up.

Showers gathering out to the west on radar, going to be in interesting day, if wind would let off slightly it would benefit temps, but then showers wouldn't get pushed so far east.

  • Chilly with an increasing risk of frost

Once Monday's band of rain fades, the next few days will be drier. However, it will feel cool, even cold, in the breeze or under gloomy skies, with an increasing risk of frost. Read the full update here

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall. It doesn't rain very often here like other desert areas, but like the deadly floods in Libya last year showed, these rain events are likely becoming more extreme due to global warming. Week Ahead: Cool but largely dry until later in the week, when low pressure returns

We keep a chilly northerly flow going through much of the coming week, especially noticeable in the east. Cloud and rain spreading south Monday, but after that, most places largely dry until later in the week, when it looks to turn more showery. Read the full update here
