As I said in the other thread, I believe that EURO4 has a problem with convective initiation.

Heavy rain here in south Lakes (Ambleside/Windermere).

Not expecting anything nextcouple of days except higher ground.

Another non-event for me.

Mmm have to disagree 100% conditions will be conducive for snow showers down to low levels in central Lakeland including Ambleside and Windermere. Even now the showers are turning sleety. Really don't know where you are coming from.

That's fair enough Damien but I'm coming from the perspective of the countless let downs over the years. Whenever snow is nailed on etc 99% it doesn't happen or goes everywhere except where I live. This is emphasised by the fact I have seen accumulating snow fall once in the last 5 years!!  I stand by my judgement and say that I expect nothing more than rain with some sleet or hail but certainly no significant snowfall in my location. On Sunday we will see I I am right or not.

Keep me updated on the Rossendale climate, heading there tomorrow to the parents. ?

Been mainly dry for the last couple of hours but showers at the moment and starting to turn to sleet and wet snow.

still marginal with temperatures though but hopefully these will fall of in the next couple of hours.

Where about in Rossendale are you heading because there can be a massive difference in snow amounts between the bottom of the valley at Ramsbottom and up at Bacup and surrounding villages.

And if we can just get this low tracking through Wales then bingo could be quite snowy!

That's the one in 5 year event I am referring too. Last time before that was Jan 13. Not been in the Lakes all that time but in those 5 years I have hardly been living on a desert!
