2.3c here, not sure of the DP, but a few showers here (I’m back home in Newton) have been sleet and hail.

Hail shower here again, winds really whipping them through with a vengeance.  Hopefully an interesting night ahead.

All is white again after intense hail shower..

If i had a quid for every hail shower since last night i'd be loaded!!

Although snow would be prefered, I would bite your hand off for all of your hail showers aslong as they are the proper type of hail which gives a covering rather than the more wet type of hail that can sometimes happen.

Just looking at current observations and its just a case of timing. The colder 850's have scooted through 2 hours later than predicted so my best guess would be 7pm onwards for increased convection and lapse rates which is no bad thing as deeper into the night means colder surface conditions (also the trough isn't forecast now until 9pm onwards)

Why do the showers always seem to reduce in size from Ireland to here! We want the big clumpy one's too! It's like they go through some special filter half way across the Irish Sea only to re-appear much smaller, Honey I Shrunk The Showers!

Because of Ireland lol. They start to die out and have to reorganize over a shorter track of sea. If there was nothing between us and the open Atlantic, we would be getting those beefy showers :)

The bbc forecast at 6pm wasn’t too exciting away from Scotland and Northern Ireland, and Wednesday night’s storm looks like a breezy and wet affair.

Just heading home to Bolton now from work in Manchester City Centre. My other half said it was a mix of sleet and snow in Bolton earlier, but we have a bit of height at home so i’m not giving up hope yet!!
