The fine-snow that was falling earlier on is now turning to drizzle even at this altitude with the front dissipating further by the hour. On the plus side there's only 5hr 30min until the Falcon9 Heavy lifts from Cape Canaveral so there's that to look forward to.

Surprised there is drizzle up there still snow here

Same here, small flakes of snow stopped then suddenly larger flakes started falling.

Can't see the clouds for the mist lol.

Heading back now through Charlesworth/ Gamesley towards Dinting.

I'm guess monks road is fine then ? Shame really been snowing most of the morning but not enough intensity, God knows what it will be like when freezes later.

Nothing here but snizzle and all it's doing is wetting the ground.

It's gone darker here, not as much sunlight getting through.

Might turn everything icy, it will once we get to sunset

Met office warnings for thursday sound interesting,  although as it starts as rain (with heavy snow showers to follow)   is it likely that coastal areas will be wrong side of marginal?

Very light sugar dusting on some favoured surfaces here, but a rubbish attempt overall.

Never thought i'd bemoan 9 hours of snow, but all it's done is make everywhere wet, its cold, its cloudy, and its wet.

I wouldnt want to speak for everyone but.........When its been a while since any snow, people say they love snow and would be happy just to see it fall......but lets be honest,  when we say we love snow, we mean we love lying snow that covers every surface, and lasts more than hour or two......sadly for Preston if that happens once every 15 years we doing well.

Fully agree with this. It's just been falling all day like snizzle.

Proof that it happened less than 2 years ago.

Fair enough I was in Scorton that day.........   I know im being very fussy now,  but that was the end of March (23rd maybe?)  which defiantly made it very notable, but somehow didnt feel like proper winter snow.

The initial front will be rain but the post frontal showers will be in -9 850s so I think that should be good enough even for the coast.
