A couple of very small flakes starting to fall in Manc CC as I walk to my office.

I think that’s the dandruff still coming over the Pennines rather than the front.

Be interesting what this ftony does as the GFS ppn charts suggests it may still over part of the region for the most part if the day, not sure if I want that here as winds are forecast to increase during the day which may mean thingsay get more marginal but it will be interesting too see how it behaves.

Still snowing light to moderate, flakes slightly bigger now also.

Snow has intensified a bit, so all surfaces now seeing a covering, probably have 2 cms. It is very light stuff though, but the front is stalling so it could be early afternoon before it leaves the region properly, some Pennine areas could hold onto it well into the afternoon, the combination of it stalling means less chance of it melting quickly this afternoon in any sunshine, it is looking a cloudy overcast one in the afternoon, temps will struggle to get much above 1 degrees, and then drop rapidly as skies clear late afternoon, could be a lovely sunset if the sun comes out.

Pity the front is weak, a very decent snow event would have occured. Alas it is looking like a proper snow day.

Must now go to work..

Despite my earlier post, the front does now appear to be weakening slightly in the last couple of radar frames.

Should still make it through the region though.

Looks like I'm at the stage of its snowing but it has stopped accumlating and some slight melting happening, was good whilst it lasted and as Damianslaw says, it's ashame there is not a greater intensity to this weather front but still, the most snow I seen since Jan 2016.
