Winds are veering NW soon so Merseyside and Cheshire will be in with a good shout of seeing snow showers feeding in.

I have been on Bacup Cricket ground in the summer and I am sure we have had warmer days in January.

Snow for Rossendale has been poor so far this year but we still have the rest of February and March and we still can get a lot in the next 6 weeks.   I wouldn’t be surprised to see a snowy Easter.

Spent a lot of time on there myself and it can be a damn cold place.

it had a Lancashire League game called off in late April 1981 when the snow was drifted 5 feet deep outside the ground.

True, we don’t usually get anything from a NW here other than bright sunshine.

I’m surprised that the precip that is falling now has nothing wintry in it. Colder air must be taking longer to come in.

edit: Metoffice have changed their tune, rain showers for here and Manchester to lunch, then a sunny afternoon!

Looks potentially great for you if temps continue to drop Darren.

Only just rained here. What the flip just happened here?!

I'm guessing winds came straight from the salty sea. Killing off the snow with salt I'd guess. :D

There was a few flakes in a shower about half hour ago here so I doubt it'll be rain all morning. I'm in bed now though so can't see what is going on.

We have small flakes blowing in the wind, slowly getting bigger.
