Thank goodness, who cares about the impacts of an alleged hypothesis in being correct.

Back to the really important stuff now, will it snow IMBY. ?

Hoping meto put a warning out for tomorrow - that will increase confidence..

Like chris i think snow will fall to low  levels tomorrow morning..

A topsy turvy few days ahead with spell of rain closely followed by heavy wintry showers and like tomorrow some of these could give some of us a covering of snow. Lots of interesting weather for sure over the next few weeks.

Upgrade on Manchester Airport TAF. Now suggesting snow rather than snow showers from 03:00 till 08:00.  Must be expecting showers to merge. This is starting to look very good.

Liverpool Airport TAF the same.

I'm flying to Berlin 7am tomorrow till 9pm Sunday. So I'll probably miss all the fun and games, if my flight isn't delayed. Enjoy!

I love Berlin! Besides, it will probably be colder and wintrier there. I went January last year when they had -5c maximum temperature with snow on the ground. The temperature in Manchester was +8c with drizzle.

OK - just a predictive chart  - but aren't all model charts predictive?

Yes the hope is the showers turn wintry after 6am , possibly earlier the higher you go, 5cm sounds mint for higher ground.

The only thing I’m concerned about is I would like to see the 0°C level a bit lower but 925 mbar temps are low and that plus a prolonged period of ppn should negate this problem.

well the meto warnings dont tally with god damn euro4 which yet again shows little in the way of snow tomorrow morning.

Even with uppers -7 to -9 and negative dews the model AGAIN point blank refuses to show lying snow.

What gives with euro 4!!!

I have NEVER seen this model shows lying snow in our region, ever.:nonono:

Because there isn't any! haha

If you notice the sequence the euro 4 has a line of snow showers tomorrow afternoon (Cheshire gap) but I guess there won't be any settling then due to the sun heating the surfaces by then.

I think Sunday is looking more promising even for the low ground but I will take any falling snow tomorrow as a nice surprise.

So if there isnt going to be any why have metoffice put out a warning for 2-5cm on higher ground ?

It shows some snow accumulation on the hills.

I find the met office warnings over the top. Look at last Tuesday as the most recent example.

So why did we have a warning covering our region? I also remember a post about the Manchester airport meeting saying there was a possibility for 2-3 cms.
