Bitterly cold -8.3C here this morning, coldest morning of the winter, going to have a walk about in Oldham town centre later, looking like a great day to be out and about.

Yes sunday has upgraded on 6z GFS with uppers -8/-9 - think we might see upgrades to wintry potential sunday into monday if GFS is right.

A little bit of snow here yesterday, slight covering on the grass etc but nothing significant.  Thats the second dusting we've had this winter (wow) there was enough for the kids to build a small (very small) snowman last time -  they managed a few (small) snowballs yesterday that have frozen overnight and may hang around a while as ive moved them into a shady spot in the garden.

2 dustings in a winter thats severe for here. They'll be selling snow shoes in the shops round here next.

Agreed - Parlick and Fair Snape looked reasonably covered - off up to Langdale this weekend.

So not one post in the mad thread about the GFS 6Z except about deep FI. Just because it isn’t showing an Easterly. There needs to be a  separate SSW/easterly chasing thread, it’s getting worse.

Its been a good morning/early afternoon watching the overheads and inbounds to MAN from the garden here. Uninterrupted crystal-clear views that's perfect for some contrail snapping and caught the Beluga too climbing out from Hawarden, it's a bit too cold to have spent the day at the airport though as originally planned but seen just as much rushing out into the garden and FR24 watching.

It’s been a lovely cold day today though turning cloudier now. Metoffice did go for a back edge sleet event on Friday morning, but the rain for Thursday into Friday seems to be for a shorter period, and all rain now. Nothing wintry according to them for low ground for the next 6 days.
