Despite seeing the snow here, the melt rate has been quite something and a little unexpected but some areas of snow will remain through the night for sure.

One of those events where Cumbria and North Lancashire got the most whilst those further south recieved falling snow but hardly anything settling so that makes a change to the usual and the front was always forecast to weaken but those further North got lucky that it did not weaken and the timing it came meant the snow settled if albeit it was not accumating all the time.

it actually looks the most intense that I've seen all day, shame it wont come to anything!

Pretty much the same experience as everyone else... in theory you can class it as snow falling (esp. this morning) but far to wet now to leave any noticeable coverings apart from grassy areas, and other vegetation, bushes, tree's etc...  Not quite the dumping that Moscow got the other day, but we live another day.

With snow cover, clearing skies, next to no wind and cold uppers what sort of minima could we be looking at in prone spots in Cumbria tonight? I had -9 in early December without snow.

Intensity picking up here, trying to settle on more areas. But I think it's a little too late.

Final drop down through the region looking at the radar, heavy wet snow here, but should hopefully clear off soon and leave a frosty night ahead.

Oo didn’t know there was a launch today. Always like watching them.  Can’t find any info about it.

Drizzle quickly turned back to light snow again from around 2pm with it sticking across surfaces now :yahoo: just about 1cm so far but i'll take it. Also https://spaceflightnow.com/2018/02/05/falcon-heavy-demo-flight-mission-status-center/ for the first Falcon9 Heavy launch, with launch-window between 6:30pm and 9pm our time.

It' taken all day to get 15mm of snow. Atleast it' not a bust.
