Snowing albeit lightly do we think intensity sat just outside of Liverpool might actually make as far as east Manchester? The ground will be saturated and with -6 being forecast tonight would be like an ice rink no matter what now.

Couple of pictures of the snow in Morecambe, when I say 3 to 4CMs I really do mean favoured surfaces like top of cars, grass and bins etc and that might be a slight exaggeration but still a decent event here nevertheless and more than I expected. The weather front did produce snow of the moderate intensity for the most parts but there was times where I would class it as heavy snow. No idea on the quality of the images as they were taken from my phone.

Seems to have picked up again here, still not sticking to anything I can see from my office window, nice to watch it fall though! :)

From my desk window I can see Portland road. It was gritted last night and there is no way anything can settle at this intensity. The ground is just starting to get wet.

I'm over by Victoria Station, and yes everything just wet here too!

It's been Coming down quite fast here for the past hour. But really small flakes. Ground is all wet. So not gunna stick. Still it's better to have snow fall all day (even if it doesn't stick), than rain.

The heavier stuff is hitting the coast and then significantly reducing in intensity. The back edge of the front will be coming into the region soon.

The intensity has picked up here. Pity it is the middle of the day though. If it was night time we would get something on the ground.

It’s interesting what a bit of altitude does! Just wish we could get a bit of heavier stuff

A bit of altitude and being out of a big city. Two important advantages.

Band is dying a death on its back edge now. Even looks like the sun will come out soon!

So did we last night but never came as it was a weak weak front. But metoffice have just put us over here  in Northern Ireland with a snow warning everyday this week which is good.

All eyes on streamer activity to the NW.

Could pack some beefy showers when temps drop.

Forget that, the wind will be northerly so they will all head to north Wales.

Small flakes here but steady intensity. Settling on all favourable surfaces.

Yeah I’m at 160m and it is settling on grass and trees. Walked up to the top of the village at 180m and it is settling on the roads as well.

A gritter has just passed here in Portland road. I don't know why they even bother at this stage.

Been snowing here in Leyland for about 3 or 4 hours, fine and wet snow and there's a lot more since these pics, not settling on roads though...
