From the reports on the Welsh and Cumbrian coasts, at least we can confirm this event is not marginal. Question is, how much energy will be left in the system by the time it reaches here as it is decaying and breaking up.

Radar showed a band of precipitation crossing me a around 5am but there's nothing at all on the ground or cars from it.

completely bone dry outside so let’s hope we’ve more luck from the main band later this morning.

Thats great chris, gfs still stalling the precip over the region until late this afternoon!

Met office update has band making it to East Midlands so can’t see it stalling over us.

Arrival of the snow is delayed compared to last night's metoffice forecast and the latest airport TAFs have pushed the timings back. However, Manchester Airport still forecasting an extended period of snow from 09:00 until 16:00. Painful watching the progress of the snow as it edges Eastwards!

The metoffice warning was only updated an hour or so ago so they must be expecting enough intensity left in the band to put down an inch or 2 across the region.

North Wales coast cams showing settling snow around Llandudno. It could turn marginal on coasts but probably not enough to turn to rain

The band looks to be seriously weakening.

I was thinking the opposite to be honest, at least at the moment. :)

Just been in touch with Guiness world record to ask if this is the slowest front in History.

Just had an E mail back thanking me for my enquiry:D
