I don't think that's like;y as some models would have picked up on this by now.

Models did not pick up on The rain that stalled over the weekend that gave almost 22 hrs of rain, all forecast had that band clearing by Lunchtime when in fact it was still raining at 2100 Saturday night.

Difference here though its snow and no doubt will have cleared through in a couple of hours.

I think there is a good chance of the front  regaining strength over the Irish sea as it will be  over run by colder 500 mbar temps. Not entirely sure of the dynamics but I feel that should cause some instability  and maybe convective enhancement.

GFS12Z seems to stall the front over our region Joe, still snowing at 19:00 tomorrow evening..

No snow here today but I note it's been seen in Liverpool. A mix of patly cloudy and blue skies today. Very dark looking to the north though. Looks like we will see a covering of snow by tomorrow even if not particularly substantial it's nice to see. Besides we don't often see two coverings of snow in winter here so bring it on ?

Few flakes while at work in Frodsham today. At home now and the odd flake falling. Metoffice graphics showing hills and N England and Wales getting something heavier, but lower areas already seeing the band peter out, and not much in the way of showers after either.

It arrives a bit later and leaves a bit later so no real difference in the precipitation amounts.

The Aprege also delays the band a bit. It seems to be getting here midday tomorrow.

I just hope the sky clears tonight to give us a frost.

The latest metoffice forecast doesn't indicate a delay, suggesting that snow moves across in early hours. See below for text:

This Evening and Tonight:

Cold and frosty with clear skies and light winds at first. A band of cloud and snow, giving accumulations to low-levels, will move southeast across the region through the early hours of the morning. Minimum temperature -4 °C.

The band is actually ahead of schedule over Ireland I think.

I am talking about what the gfs and the aprege show compared to their earlier version.

Hit quite a decent snow shower on the way back from work today from Wallasey to North Yorks on the M62 just east of Manchester. Fresh covering above 300m :)
