yep, with temps of 2/3 in the affy it will melt at a rate of knots , imho of course.. :)

Yes but what I mean is we’re not looking at a sleet or rain event. Not the sort of setup where you need to be up high to guarantee snow, like so many others have been this winter.

the crucial bit is whether the band will make it here in the first place with any significance. :-)

I agree temps won’t necessarily guarantee lasting cover all day - but the fact we’re looking at snow falling at temps below freezing is notable IMO. :-) Also remember a frost is forecast as soon as the sun goes down on Tuesday too.

We’re due a bit of good luck aren’t we? :-)

Fingers crossed it isn’t just snizzle. We don’t really have EURO4 on board in terms of anything significant - not getting my hopes up too much.

Unlikely to see lying snow but you need to read the small print regarding a claim against mother nature or additional third parties.

As the front is coming through in the morning i think most places away from the coast might see a dusting, we need to see a quiet cold monday night though to get those ground temps down, tonight has been poor from a frost point of view, im working nights and just been outside, no frost here.

Yes very bizarre hard frost forecast but no frost actually occurred. 2C currently and part cloudy. Looked like cloud stuck around most of the night.

Has anyone noticed there seems to be an increase in radar returns across NE England?

Could be a few light snow flurries today?

Had some snow flurries this morning Kevin.

Even with pressure high my location always seems to do well in an east wind, not suggesting we will see anything today but another example of why i much prefer easterlies..

A quick peep at the radar reveals precisely why i prefer easterlies- ALL pink on the Net weather radar, no blues and greens to be seen.

Hopefully after mid month we might get a convective easterly, that would be great :)
