0.8°C now, it’s really plummeting...just like my mood when the ref gave those dodgy penalties earlier on.

Should see a preety cold night tonight, perhaps -3 degrees, and tomorrow looks cold, possibly no better than 2 degrees and only briefly so frost will linger out of the sun. Looking forward to snowfall overnight Monday - bit of a pity it is coming through the night, but would be nice to see it falling first thing.

Today was great in the Lake District after yesterday's murk, lots of snow on the fells, and blue skies.

Thursday night currently looking like a snow to rain event but it has huge potential. I‘d take that for now though.

I suspect there could be a few surprises in the woodshed this week.

The national forecasts have not really added much detail beyong 24 hours. Definately cagey.

18z GFS is decent - a relatively active front

Yes it  is Joe :)

Hate to use the word altitude but i suspect its going to play a part tues even, need temps as close to zero as possible when the decaying front hits our region,i fear the snow will be that light unless ground temps are low it will just wet the ground.

We'll see.

thurs/fri front more active, but modelled on GFS as wintry mix, mild sector there

I don’t think altitude will play much of a part on Tuesday tbh.

If the front gets here it should be snow at all levels, certainly inland. In fact some of the snow could be falling with temps below freezing.

Tuesday with temps of 1 at 300m probably means snow will not settle for most. BBC app has had this weekends temp spot on

BBC app has temps sub zero all day in moorside- it will stick for you but it will be that light if temps get above freezing in the afternoon anything will just melt, hence my comment about altitude. :)
