Just watched the BBC weather at 2pm, nick seemed quite dismissive of snow for England and Wales this week, except for the SE tonight. Even said the front on Thursday would be more rain than snow.

Dear Nick Millar...If that's the case then what's the bloody point of the yellow warning then?

It’s lovely her now, Di Ox said thankfully i’d miss the worst of it and what I had would soon melt as the sun came out again.

Yeah I was going to see if you could get your machine down Moki but in the end we did it by hand.

missus likes a bit of gardening and is pretty good with a wheel barrow.

it took pretty well all week to finish but she managed to catch up with the soaps that weekend so it all worked out in the end.

Doing the retaining wall for the water feature and the little foot bridge was a bit of a task though, especially mixing everything by hand.

Damn slow progress looking at it, from an IMBY point of view I hope it gets another 50 miles before stalling.

that said it doesn’t look heavy, probably nuisance value really.

Would be nice to get snowfall of 15cm, getting a bit tired of these light coverings.

I think most of us will be lucky to get 15mm out of that front, hardly warrants a Met O warning i’d imagine.

12z run updates for Tuesday...

Looking good for a light covering for most of us. GFS and HIRLAM most bullish. Nothing hugely substantial but it won’t be marginal apart from on the immediate coast. Maybe a cm or so.

Awaiting NMM, Euro4 and ECM

Still definite opportunity for the front to completely fizzle before it reaches Greater Manchester, but this looks unlikely according to most of the NWP.

Agreed, it looks unlikely that it will reach the Pennines and will probably fizzle out before then, could even be one of those rare occasions where those west of the M6 do better than those to the east.

never mind though, at least there are likely to be plenty of chances during the coming days, whatever the direction they come from.

Won’t be marginal even on the immediate coast.

GFS suggests 2m temps of 2C or 3C with dewpoints around freezing.

You’ll probably be ok but obviously you’re looking less cold than inland, but that’s usually a given anyway. The plus side is you get the heaviest precipitation.

Look at the 925 mbar temps and 0 C level though.

Not good news from the EURO4 I’m afraid. The front dies a death and there’s no snow accumulation anywhere APART FROM on the immediate coast. :)

Same here but looks like there’s going to be plenty of potential to clear off the drive again this week.

at least it’s easier to move than snow.
