If the wind stays offshore  as is progged you should be fine

Looks like a southerly so that's onshore here , it will be really marginal

Worst case scenario: Snizzle from a dead-on-it's-feet cold front on Tuesday, cold rain/wet sleet Thurs due to bothersome mild sector... milder weather back in next weekend.

Best case scenario: a few fluffy cm's of pure cotton-wool like snow on Tuesday that settles on ground most of the week due to very low surface temperature.  Top up of golden fluffy white goodness on Thursday... and a reload of cold next weekend.

I posted exactly this in mod thread yesterday and was pilloried remorselessly....the worst bit, which inevitably will be what happens.

I think the negativity is not to what the models are showing, it’s the fact that this winter, classic synoptics have usually ended up as downgraded rubbish.

hopefully this time will be different.

meanwhile my snow shower has been and gone but at least they are crossing the Pennines.

Having said that if you look at ECM 0z and GFS 0z op runs from last Sunday for this Sunday, I wouldn't have expected to wake up to frosty and icy conditions this morning.

Even yesterday last night was predicted to be frost free at least imby.

Forecast for my area on Tuesday has changed so many times with the duration of snow. It’s always showed snow, and only light at that, but it keeps going from 1-2 hours to up to 6 and back a few times.

Just watched the BBC weather at 2pm, nick seemed quite dismissive of snow for England and Wales this week, except for the SE tonight. Even said the front on Thursday would be more rain than snow.

-1.3°C minimum here. They always underestimate the off-shore wind effect.

You know I haven’t watched a television weather forecast for over 10 years and don’t intend to any time soon. Only strife can come from them.

Had a wintry shower earlier just though I would share lol

If you had put your heating on you could have had a hot shower.
