Moderate snow in Heaton Moor with a slushy covering - most I’ve seen all winter.

Gently falling light snow here has left a covering, will be an ice rink tomorrow morning if it freezes.

Chaos on mottram lorries everywhere...

M66 J1-4, M60 J18-26 & M67 J1-4 onto the A57 Mottram Moor treacherous. Roads in north and east Manchester, Rochdale, Oldham & Tameside areas are affected. Main routes on higher ground are passable but anything with a hill on it, is a struggle!

You answered my question seeing as I clicked on the wrong quote to reply to.:D

My son is stuck on the 237 on way to Glossop near Matley Lane. Service might terminate there.

Can you give him a lift Will?

There seems to have been some thaw which has then frozen so everywhere is covered in ice which is treacherous under foot, snow still quite thick on the grass.

Ended up with around an inch of snow yesterday evening, which half thawed overnight, leaving side roads icy and treacherous.

Saturday looking very interesting with latest fax charts showing a stalling front down the spine of the country for several hours. Potential for quite a bit of snow.

Not sure Dexter- think quite a bit of altitude might be needed saturday.

Very finely poised though something to keep an eye on for sure..

True, but then I wasn't expecting last night to deliver at this altitude. Certainly a lot of interest in the semi-reliable anyway. :)

I think the system on Saturday needs to be further west to deliver snow here. Hopefully the models will shift it further west in the upcoming runs. Fingers crossed.
