Pavements, roofs and grassed areas starting to turn white here.

Just had a drive up to werneth low near Hyde. . proper stuff up there.. settling on along surfaces.

It went on the turn near Bredbury on my way there, but on the drive back it was snowing all across Greater Manchester. Even down here at 40m ASL it is snowing (not sleet) although it isn’t settling as it’s very wet

Nice settling now, quite surprised considering how wet it looked earlier with the light stuff falling and melting.  This might sit over the hills, but always in the back of your mind is the milder air will soon push through.... oh well make the most of it as they say.

Rain type radar shows rain for my location, yet it’s thick snow.

Precipitation type is based on model predictions rather than actual observation.

A bit colder and I would have had a good covering by now.

Snow has turned to rain across Wales and now reports of rain in Staffordshire and parts of the Midlands. If you still have falling snow then enjoy it while it lasts, sadly you don't have long.

Mild crap is coming.

Good to see some heavy snow even if it's not sticking. Mids thread suggest reversion to rain is pretty fast though.

Snow beginning to settle here since the flakes began to fall around a hour and a bit ago, beeb suggests snowfall for the peaks up to 3pm before the front clears east.

That was nice whilst it lasted, recently a wintry mix then back to rain here now. Popped out to Knutsford an hour ago and it was coming down really nicely.

Yeah it’s wet snow. Won’t stick, PPN isn’t heavy enough

Seems to be getting heavier and sticking to favoured surfaces, obviously some areas fair bet than others in this kind of event.

Just got to hope that mild air stops in it's tracks, somehow. The reality is we might get a decent covering (half way to it now) before it reverts to sleet and rain.
