Snow (proper) now. Heavier precipitation making the difference.

Just been slightly damp here for the past hour or so, the precipitation we had having died off. Some more intense precipitation seems to be edging over Manchester in this direction.

Finally got proper snow falling out the skies here at 210m asl north of Buxton, as for the past few days it's mainly been a mix of sleet, grauple, rain except for the higher areas.

Steady snow here and starting to get a reasonable covering on the grass etc.

could be an interesting journey north for the Man U fans heading to Turf Moor and for us going over Deerplay summit from Bacup.

Sleet and wet snow falling here now. Certainly no risk of anything settling atm.

Raining since 9:30ish here.

This really has been a crappy cold spell.

And this winter has been bizarre. Imby at 150m east Manchester. I have seen quite a lot of snow falling but not lasting/ sticking.

However the past two winters I didn't have as much falling snow, but both I had lying snow on the ground for a few days at a time.

Sleety with odd wet flake here between Macc and Congleton at 100masl. Not looking too thrilling.

Precipitation dying off here again and looking at the radar, can't see anything significant here today. Tomorrow may be different. Arpege is indicating a decent period of snow for much of the region tomorrow.

The snow has been very patchy these last few days.  Yesterday, I drove up through Rainow through to Buxton through Whaley Bridge there is a lot of snow in places but some areas like Whaley Bridge don’t seem to have much at all. Wasn’t just an altitude thing either.

Took a walk myself along Toddbrook Res which has Sponds Moor to the west, plenty of snow that way and around Shining Tor, Kinder, but it's pretty barren around town with only a few snow-patches here and there.

I will be posting my thoughts about tomorrow morning after the 12Z when I get back home at about 22:00. Looking interesting, but last chance for a while.

Snowing at the top of North Road, Hadfield@ 235M. Snow cover from that height to the top of the hill with the transmitter on it.

Another poor day bits of sleet thrown in but it was never going to stick on the sodden wet ground.  The forecast only 12 hours ago was for a decent day today as they initially thought the band of rain/sleet and pretense of 'snow' would stay to the south of the region.  Alas not... and tomorrow looking like another day of falling slush.  Roll on the milder weather.  I like my rain a bit warmer.
