Skies are darkening to my North and West. Not sure if the hole on the radar is rain shadow effect or more to do with precipitation slipping South Eastwards.

Raining for a hour here and I'm pretty confident now the snow won't gonna happen here.

Sticking to trees, car roofs and house roofs now and to the grass, there's a slushy accumulation on tarmac however even that is getting more and more white in colour - if still a dull black/grey in most places. Appears to be getting heavier as wel - even if the flakes themselves are quite smalll. It couldn't defy the odds and actually cover that slush could it?

Even above 300m asl in North Wales is getting rain... Absolutely no chance for lower level west of the M6

Clearly no rain shadow effect at the moment as precipitation is making it across with ease now. Unfortunately, it is sleet here atm though

Don't think i've ever seen this much snow just disappear into the ground for many years, this is worse than hours of sleet. Grounds absolutely saturated with slush and the snows far too wet. If the ground was try this must have been 1-2 inches of snow. Finally starting to stick to some surfaces but can't see it being the snowfield we all want out of these.

The location of the band is about 100 miles north than was shown on the BBC forecast at 9 last night

Well it’s snowing here in Glyn Ceiriog, near Llangollen and we are not 300m asl.

It’s sleeting here, if we get the heavier bulk of PPN it’ll probably snow, shame it’s so light!

theres always something working against us here!

Just arrived in Oldham town centre (200m asl) and even here it's only sleet.
