South east is better not central and southwest along the coast

I think the Irish Sea shower machine has found a new lease of life. Looks to be baby and juvenile following each other.

I like the purple line track

Some life is stirring on the radar! We’ve just had a quick heavy hail shower, temp steady at 0.5°C

The apparent death of the Easterly is why Kent does not fare well for snow these days.  I can remember some cracking snowfalls in the 80s there when I was a kid.

Even the noughties weren't too bad (moved to Yorkshire in 2010) but since then it has been pretty dire.

That said I have only seen two small falls of snow (no more than 2cms) here since December 2014 and both of them were gone within a day (one being the slush fest on Tuesday night).  Something seems to have changed our climate in the last few years that is for sure.  :sorry:

I’m sure at some point we will have a good winter again, we just might have to wait another 20 years for it! Lol

Disagree, only coastal parts of Cumbria tend to do poor for snow. Alot of Cumbria away from the coast and North Cumbria is at least 200 metres above sea level, and whilst it isn't best placed to see snow from northerly and easterly airstreams, it can see significant snowfall from frontal events. Don't have to go far to see snow either, just climb one of the fells, and under atlantic airstreams you hit the snowline.

Heavy snow here now and it's sticking. Not sure how much is left in this shower though. Be a nice base for anything that falls tomorrow if it isn't rain.

Liverpool TAF has updated and now shows rain/snow for tomorrow morning instead of just rain so that’s good. GFS 18Z has further delayed the mixing out of the cold 850s on Sunday giving a longer window for potential snowfall.

I'm away from comp until tomorrow afternoon. How is the precipitation looking for tomorrow Chris?  Any change from earlier?

We had heavy snow earlier tonight but that went slushy and now there is ice every where. Dreading the moped journey home later.

Looking at the rain today radar there is a massive front heading quickly this way from SW over the Welsh mountains. That's got to be more snow with my name on it ?
